We are still waiting for the winds and sea to let up, along with a bunch of other boats. Supposedly Sun-Tue we'll have an open weather window in which to hopefully sail from here to Turtle Bay if we're lucky. Then we will go on to Ensanada to check out of Mexico. Some people say you don't really have to but you're supposed to. Sounds weird to me not to follow the rules and then just show up in San Diego to customs, who knows.
We have been doing projects. I broke all my sewing machine needles so I can't sew but have been scrubbing and oiling the teak in the salon (living) area and the galley (kitchen). It sure looks better. Scott had a nasty job of redoing one of the toilets gaskets and it works great now. This morning he had to unclog the kitchen sink.
Last night we invited people over for Spaghetti to have a bit of Social Life as all we've done for entertainment is eat and read. hee hee
We had a couple from a boat named Jesse Girl over, Jessie and SHanna, both have lived in Montana before, Billings I think.
We also had a family over from a boat named Celestial, Dad is also named Scott, Mom is Donna, and son 25 just returned from Navy is Nate (Nathaniel). They had a daughter 18 or so but she was ill (Celeste) and couldn't come, very nice people from Seattle, they've come around all the way from Maine where they bought a fast boat, they've been sailing since they were young. They brought some wine and dessert and we talked and had a good time til they left as the winds were just picking up fiercely and it had just gotten dark. The moon is almost full though and was pretty reflecting a trail of sparkles on the oceans surface.
There is a surf camp out on the point here where they have some Quanset Huts, pretty nice I've been told. It's private. Supposedly stars sometimes go there so people won't bother them and the Paparazi (however you spell it) can't find them. Hmmm, I better get the binoculars out and see what's shakin'!!!! hee hee
Well, we are looking forward to making it North and visiting. It is already much cooler than the Sea of Cortez, which is fine for the air temp but I miss the warmer waters that were inviting to swim in. The water here is just darn cold.
I'm going to clean the windows in preparation for making our passage Sunday (hopefully). The salt is all over the boat from our last high seas adventure to get here.
We have plenty of food and water and fuel so far and there is a fish camp nearby if you get desperate they will usually help people out for fair rates with such items.
Write us some emails, we're bored and let us know what's up or we'll check facebook for those who have
Love and miss you all
